People often ask me how Spikey Mouse Photography came about, it all started with a little boy called Ben. On a day out with his grandmother he asked if he could buy his mum a birthday present and settled on a ceramic hedgehog. Now a grown man with a child of his own he still buys me a hedgehog for my birthday and other celebrations and i now have a collection that is quite impressive. Hedgehog in Bengali is kata chua or spikey mouse and that is where the name came from, thanks to Ben!
I am Karen, i live on the Wirral in the North West of England. I am a daughter, wife, mother, i am a Photographer. I studied art and loved photography, it has now become a way of life. I am lucky to be able to spend a lot of time with my camera and it has brought me success, exhibitions and awards but it has ultimately brought me peace. I am enthralled by light and use my camera to capture that moment of softness or anger, new beginnings or days end, that emotional impact of the light at a given moment on the landscape. I keep going back to the sea and will spend hours waiting so i can make you feel what i feel when i capture a sunrise or a rainy day, a high sea or a calm moon lite night. You will often see me, my camera and trusty tripod wandering the Wirral at all hours hunting for the moment, the light that will make my perfect photograph.
My work has previously shown in the Williamson Art Gallery, Art Takes Times Square New York, the Liverpool Art Fair, Liverpool Contemporary Art Fair and the Chester Art Fair.
